Policeman injured in attack

A policeman is in hospital after being attacked in Bangor, County Down.
The RUC officer stopped a car in High Street to question the driver about a suspected motoring offence shortly after midnight on Saturday. But the man ran off and was chased by the police officer into the garden of a house nearby. Minutes later, the policeman's colleagues found him semi-conscious, with wounds to his head and face. No arrests were made.
