The incident happened in Bangor
The incident happened in Bangor
A policeman is in hospital after being attacked in Bangor, County Down.

The RUC officer stopped a car in High Street to question the driver about a suspected motoring offence shortly after midnight on Saturday.

But the man ran off and was chased by the police officer into the garden of a house nearby.

Minutes later, the policeman's colleagues found him semi-conscious, with wounds to his head and face.

No arrests were made.
