Labour's crime concerns revealed
The Conservatives are accusing the government of being weak on crime following the publication of a leaked memo in the Sunday Times. The document, sent to the Home Secretary Jack Straw, warns that plans to reduce all sentences of under one year to three months in jail and then up to nine months community supervision, could be interpreted as softer sentences. The government insists its policies will mean more criminals in prison. The BBC's Political Correspondent Jonathan Beale reports:
