World Cup internet sales open
Tickets have gone on sale via the internet for next year's football World Cup in Japan and South Korea. Applications for around three-million tickets were invited internationally ten days ago. But internet sales were suspended because of what organisers said were technical problems. About half the tickets will go to fans in the two host countries -- the first in Asia to host the event. A process of random selection will determine who gets tickets. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
