Workers drowned in Bolivian gold mine
At least nine people have died in Bolivia in a flooded gold mine. The workers were trapped underground when water from a nearby river swept through the chambers of the mine. Local authorities are still trying to rescue other trapped workers, but are being hampered by continued torrential rain. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
