Brothers killed in road accident
Flowers were placed at the scene of the accident
Flowers were placed at the scene of the accident
The names have been released of the two brothers killed in a road accident in County Londonderry.

They were Vishall Thomas McCloskey, 30, from Claudy and his 24-year-old brother Drew Daniel McCluskey from Dungiven.

They were in a car which hit a tree on the Corrick Road, near Dungiven, just before 1900 GMT on Friday.

A friend who was also in the car is being treated in hospital where he is described as "stable".

The brothers, both plasterers, were cousins of Ulster champion boxer Paul McCloskey who was fighting in Dublin on Friday night.

'Shock'

A 30-second silence was held before the contest as a mark of respect.

Local curate Father Andy McCluskey said the community was in shock.

Speaking on Saturday, he said: "Like everybody in Dungiven, I am really shocked and saddened.

"Dungiven is a very close knit community and we are all very, very, shocked.

"And especially with two in the one family, it is just an added tragedy, it's really terrible."

The police in Dungiven want to hear from anyone who saw the crash to call them on 028 777 4122.
