	It used to be Hollywood that dealt with the threat of giant asteroids and Near Earth Objects striking the Earth and destroying life as we know it. But now the UK's Science Minister Lord Sainsbury has announced plans for British astronomers and technology to play a leading role in helping to prevent a potential disaster which could wipe out mankind.
