Afghan shells land in Tajikistan

Russian border guards in Tajikistan say twenty shells fired from Afghanistan have landed on Tajik territory near the Moskovski border post area.

There were no casualties in the incident that happened late on Friday.

The border command has expressed concern over the frequency of shells landing in the zone controlled by Russian troops, but it gave no indication of who it held responsible for the incident. The ITAR-TASS news agency the warring sides in Afghanistan had been firing at each other at the time, and the shells that landed in Tajikistan may have been stray ones.
