Young 'bail bandits' targeted
Courts in England and Wales are to be given stronger powers to hold repeat young offenders in custody if they are charged with new offences while on bail. The initiative, due to be launched by UK Home Office minister Paul Boateng on Saturday, is part of the government's crackdown on "yob culture". Research has shown that juveniles are more than twice as likely to offend on bail than adults. The BBC's Margaret Gilmore reports.
