More trouble in Gaza Strip
Israel has tightened its blockade of the Gaza Strip, cutting the main road joining north and south Gaza near the Jewish settlement of Netzarim. It's also demolished a Palestinian security outpost in the north of the Strip. The army said it was carrying out retaliatory actions after mortar shells were fired at a Jewish settlement Aley Sinai overnight. Israeli tanks and bulldozers have also moved up to another Palestinian security post in the area. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
