Farm disease crisis closes markets
It has been confirmed that foot-and-mouth disease has been found at a farm in Northumberland. The Ministry of Agriculture says this could be the source of the outbreak. Four other cases of the disease have now been confirmed in Essex, bringing the total of confirmed cases in Britain to five. Tests are being carried out at several other farms, which have been surrounded by exclusion zones. The countryside has effectively been placed out of bounds, with ramblers told to stay at home and hunts being cancelled. The BBC's Richard Bilton reports.
