Aida

At the Royal Albert Hall in London the famous march from Aida will be floating over a vista of Ancient Egypt as Verdi's classic opera starts a nationwide run. It's the annual opera production by impresario Raymond Gubbay. Gubbay is something of a thorn in the side of places like Covent Garden. His operas are reasonably cheap to attend, thoroughly accessible and highly spectacular. The BBC's Rosie Millard reports
