High investment predicted for Latin America
A leading think tank here in London says investment in Latin America will maintain the high levels it has reached over the past few years. Analysts from the Economist Intelligence Unit say Brazil and Mexico would be the countries preferred by international investors, both because of the size of their economies and, in Mexico's case, because of its deepening integration with the United States' economy in the North America Free Trade Area. But the analysts say Venezuela, Colombia and Ecuador all face medium-term problems that make them less attractive to foreign investors. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
