Singapre suspends British meat imports
Singapore has suspended imports of pork, mutton and game meats from Britain, following an outbreak of foot and mouth disease. The ban follows similar moves by the European Union, the United States, Canada, Japan and South Korea. Britain imposed its own ban on the export of live farm animals yesterday. Singapore has already banned beef imports from Britain because of madcow disease, or BSE. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
