More than 900 Kurdish migrants stranded on the southern French coast have been given papers granting them temporary freedom in France.

"Safe conduct" promises the permit, but this man will have to prepare his asylum claim within the next week.

The permits allow the Kurds to leave the camp, though many have chosen to stay.
