Napster seeks $1bn music deal
	Beleaguered online music sharing service Napster has offered to pay US record companies $1bn to settle a legal dispute which could force it to shut down. Napster officials say they are proposing to pay five major record companies $150m per year for five years. Under the proposal, independent labels would get $50m annually over the same period.
