Pakistan condemns Russian nuclear fuel shipment
Pakistan has expressed concern over a shipment of Russian nuclear fuel to the Indian nuclear reactor at Tarapur. A Pakistani foreign office spokesman said that such supplies would lead to growth in India's nuclear weapons capability. He said the shipment highlighted the discriminatory practices against Pakistan by individual nuclear states who applied very tight restrictions to the supply of any nuclear equipment to Pakistan. The United States has also criticised the shipment. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
