Indonesia: wreckage of missing plane found

The Indonesian authorities say they have found the wreckage of a plane carrying senior officials which crashed in a remote area of Irian Jaya on Monday.

They say everyone on board died.

The passengers included the province's police and military chiefs.

There's no explanation as to what caused the crash; but officials say there's nothing to suggest sabotage. There's been a lengthy campaign for independence in Irian Jaya which the Indonesian military have been accused of suppressing with sometimes excessive force.
