Hindu gathering

Tens of thousands of Hindu faithful have gathered in the north Indian city of Allahabad for the Maha Kumbh Mela, which gets underway on Tuesday. It's the biggest event in the Hindu calendar and is only marked by celebrations on this scale once every twelve years. Officials say they expect five million people to visit the area to bathe at this particularly sacred stretch of the river Ganges. THe BBC's Jill McGivering reports:
