Rise in Christmas drink-drivers
New figures show that more than a thousand motorists involved in collisions during the Christmas and New Year period in England and Wales were over the drink drive limit. This is an increase of 11% on the previous year. Senior police officers are calling for tougher powers to deal with what they describe as a hardcore of motorists who regularly drink and drive. The BBC's Jon Brain reports
