Missing woman appeal renewed
![]() The search has been going on for a week
Police searching for a 20-year-old woman missing since New Year's Day have renewed their appeal for public help.
Corinne Bell, from Newport on Tay, was last seen on the Tay Road Bridge in Dundee a week ago and police in Fife have described her disappearance as "puzzling". Miss Bell was last seen in the town at 0130 GMT on 1 January. Police believe she returned briefly to her family home before being reported missing. A spokesman for Fife Police said: "Sooner or later the puzzle will be solved, but it could be that someone somewhere is, albeit inadvertently, holding back the vital clue that would help us.
"No matter how trivial they might consider their contribution to be, it must never be forgotten that it could easily lead us to her." The young woman's mother Barbara said the disappearance was "completely out of character" and pleaded for her daughter to return home. Miss Bell is described as being 5ft 9in, of slim build, with long straight hair and blue eyes. She usually wears glasses and was last seen wearing a navy blue ski jacket, dark corduroy trousers, pink or lilac gloves and brown calf-length boots.
