Iranian dissidents target security HQ
A dissident Iranian group, Majuhideen Khalq, says its members carried out a mortar attack aimed at the Iranian security services headquarters in Teheran. At least five explosions were heard mid-evening in the north of the city, close to an Armenian sports centre. No casualties have been reported. The BBC Teheran correspondent says several government buildings are in the area, including the security services headquarters. The Mujahideen Khalq statement was issued in Dubai shortly after the explosions took place. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
