![]() Police are still searching for Corinne Bell
A couple have come forward to help police in the search for Corinne Bell, who went missing at Hogmanay.
The couple were understood to have seen 20-year-old Miss Bell on the Tay Road Bridge in Dundee in the early hours of New Year's Day. She has been missing from her home in Newport on Tay for more than four days and concern for her safety has been growing.
"But sadly we have still been unable to find Corinne. "Her continued absence is giving more and more cause for concern as time goes by." The spokesman said it was possible Miss Bell may have made it to Dundee on foot and urged anyone who thought they may have seen her to get in touch. Miss Bell was last seen in Newport on Tay at 0130 GMT on New Year's Day and police believe she returned briefly to her family home soon afterwards before going missing. Blue ski jacket Her mother Barbara said her disappearance was "completely out of character" and pleaded for her daughter to return home. Miss Bell has been described as 5ft 9in tall, of slim build with long straight hair and blue eyes. She usually wears glasses and was last seen wearing a navy blue ski jacket, dark corduroy trousers, pink or lilac gloves and brown, calf length boots.
Stephen Heaney, 26, was last seen early on Boxing Day and police have renewed their appeal for information which could help trace him. Search teams have been concentrating their efforts on Pittenweem Harbour and the surrounding area. The police spokesman said: "His disappearance remains a mystery too but we hope that our ongoing door to door enquiries and the search of the area will yield more clues to where he might have gone." A further appeal was issued by officers in Kirkcaldy for help in tracing 36-year-old Brian Thorburn, who was last seen on 15 December. |
