Man banned from pubs after assaults

A man who punched a north Wales publican in the face then assaulted two police officers has been banned by magistrates from entering seven pubs in a north Wales town.

Darren Turner, who is 22, has been banned from entering the pubs in Llanrwst without the permission of the licencees for one year.

He pleaded guilty to three assault charges, criminal damage and possessing cannabis resin.

Turner was ordered by the court at Llandudno to attend a "street and pub violence" course as a condition of a 12-month probation order.

The court heard that after being told he was under arrest, Turner had punched one PC in the chest and kicked the second.

Magistrates also ordered Turner to do 80 hours community service.

In addition Turner, a slaughterman, from Llanrwst, must pay £100 compensation each to the landlord and two police officers, £119 compensation for damaging a police car and £35 costs.
