Hospital drive to cut CJD risk
Hospitals have been given new instructions to reduce the risk of spreading of the human form of BSE or mad cow disease. Surgical instruments used in tonsil operations in England and Wales will now be thrown away, rather than sterilised and used again. The department of health insists there's only a theoretical risk of contracting variant CJD. The BBC's Fergus Walsh reports.
