Explosion in Indian weapons factory
A short-range missile has exploded in an accident at a weapons plant in Hyderabad in South India, killing one person and injuring 10 others.

The Defence Secretary, Yogendra Narayana, was in another part of the factory when the blast occurred and a fire broke out.

Workers with burns and shrapnel wounds have been rushed to a local hospital.

The company, Bharat Dynamics Ltd, has refused to release information on the extent of the damage. The state-owned Bharat Dynamics manufactures defence equipment, including components for India's missile programme.
