Siege at Portuguese TV

Two armed men have forced their way into the headquarters of Portuguese state television in Lisbon, accompanied by a woman and two children.

One of the men held his gun to the head of a security guard at the main door and threatened to detonate a bomb he said he was carrying in a briefcase.

The TV station, which has continued to broadcast, said the five locked themselves up in a toilet area from where they've been negotiating with police by mobile phone.

The police said the intruders had set a deadline of 1600 for their demands to be met.

The TV station said these demands relate to a programme broadcast about a company allegedly owned by one of the men.
