Saudi Oil Minister in production cut talks in Kuwait

Saudi Arabia's Oil Minister, Ali Naimi -- who's touring neighbouring Gulf states to secure support for a new round of cuts in oil production -- has held talks with his Kuwaiti counterpart ,Sheikh Saud Nasser al-Saud al-Sabah.

Afterwards, the Kuwaiti Minister announced that production would be cut, but he did not say by how much.

Mr Naimi is also scheduled to hold talks in Iran.

His tour follows an agreement last week in Amsterdam by Saudi Arabia, Venezuela and Mexico to reduce production by a total of four-hundred-and-fifty thousand barrels a day in an effort to raise prices.

After brief visits to Qatar, Oman and the United Arab Emirates, Mr Naimi said all three had shown a willingness to help.
