Police in the south Russian republic of Kalmykia say they've found the body of a prominant independent journalist, Larisa Yudina.
Kalmyk officials said Ms Yudina was apparently murdered after she was abducted on Sunday.
Ms Yudina was the editor of the only opposition newspaper in Kalmykia, Sovetskaya Kalmykia.
Fellow journalists describe her as exceptionally brave.
They say she had been following a story about financial irregularities, and disappeared after going to meet a stranger who'd offered to hand over documents
