Legislators resign in Bali

Reports from Indonesia say members of the provincial parliament in Bali have agreed to resign following protests against alleged corruption.

The Jakarta Post newspaper said the speaker of the provincial assembly, Ketut Saundria, told thousands of demonstrators in Denpasar that all forty-six members had agreed to stand down.

Elsewhere, at least ten thousand factory workers in Surabaya are continuing their strike for better pay and working conditions.

Police said thirty strikers were injured in clashes between police and strikers on Monday.
