More fighting along Eritrea-Ethiopia border

Ethiopian and Eritrean forces have again clashed along the two countries' disputed border.

Each side accused the other of launching an attack around the town of Zalambessa, which was captured by Eritrean troops last week.

The latestfighting follows yesterday's appeal by Eritrea for direct talks with Ethiopia, to try to end the border conflict which flared up a month ago.

Ethiopia has said it's committed to peace initiatives offered by the United States and Rwanda, and has called on Eritrea to accept a ceasefire and a withdrawal of troops from the disputed region.
