UN in Lebanon protests to Israel over shelling

The United Nations peacekeeping force in south Lebanon has complained to the Israeli army after one of its bases was hit by a mortar shell.

The UN Interim Force in Lebanon -- or UNFIL -- said a mortar round, fired by Israeli-backed militiamen, damaged a base used by Nepalese peacekeepers near the Israeli-held area of southern Lebanon last week.

No one was injured.
