CAN FOLLOW KOSOVO Foreign diplomats based in Belgrade have been describing some of the scenes of last week's fighting in western Kosovo, after they were taken on a tour of a region on Sunday by the Yugoslav authorities.
The Dutch ambassador Jan Sizoo spoke of villages burned and emptied of their inhabitants.
Another diplomat is quoted by Reuters news agency as saying that sixty per cent of the houses in the town of Decani had been destroyed.
But the diplomat said there was a lot of evidence that the Kosovo Liberation Army had been well prepared for the fight.
The visit took place after negotiations with the Yugoslav authorities by an American envoy.
