Police closed the road on which the body was found
Police are stepping up their investigation after a 53-year-old man was found dead outside a house in a west Wales village.

The body of Len Proctor was discovered in Trimsaran near Llanelli, on Boxing Day morning.

Dyfed-Powys Police have now confirmed that they are treating this death as suspicious and are are planning to stage a public appeal for witnesses.

A team of 50 officers have been conducting house-to-house inquiries.

Officers have said they want to talk in particular to two men who were seen drinking with Mr Proctor in the Miners' Arms on Christmas night.

They were reported to have left with the pub with him at around 2215GMT and were later seen walking towards a shop in the village.

Mr Proctor's body was taken to Prince Phillip Hospital for a post mortem examination, the results of which are not yet known.

"The exact cause of death has not been ascertained," said police spokesman Dai Davies.

"There are injuries to the body which are being treated as suspicious."

Street surrounding the house outside which Mr Proctor was found have now reopened.
