Two dead in Cyprus gangland hit

Two men have been killed in the capital of Cyprus, Nicosia, in what police believe was a gangland attack.

Officials said the two men were leaving a social club at dawn when they were shot.

An AK-47 automatic rifle, which is believed to have been one of the murder weapons, was later recovered at the scene. A police spokesman told correspondents that both men had criminal records and were suspected of involvement in nightclub protection rackets
