A man and a woman are being held for questioning about the murder of a man who died on Wednesday after being stabbed.

Edward Robinson, 35, was stabbed in the chest outside a house in the new Mayo Park development where he lived, off the Shankill Road in west Belfast.

The stabbing is believed to have happened after a party.

Mr Robinson was taken to the Mater Hospital at about 0400 GMT on Wednesday morning, where he died later.

The police them began a murder inquiry, and have been questioning a man and a woman arrested after the stabbing.

Mr Robinson was the fourth person in the province to die after being stabbed, since Christmas Eve.
