Honduras declares winner in primary election

The electoral authorities in Honduras have issued final results from controversial elections earlier this month to choose a presidential candidate for the main opposition National Party.

The winner was declared to be Luis Consenza, with more than eighty-five per cent of the votes.

Mr Consenza was a stand-in candidate for the party's preferred choice, Ricardo Maduro, who's been barred from standing because he was born abroad.
