Diplomat dies in window fall
Scotland Yard sign
Police are not treating the death as suspicious
A senior diplomat has died after accidentally falling from the window of his house in London on Christmas Day.

Commodore Javed Ahmed Khan, the defence and naval adviser in the High Commission for Pakistan, is believed to have slipped while trying to fix a television aerial.

Mr Khan, 48, is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter, a spokesman for the High Commission said.

Funeral prayers were said for him at the Regent's Park Mosque in London, attended by Pakistani High Commissioner Abdul Kader Jaffer and colleagues.

Mr Khan's body is being flown back to Lahore en route to the capital Islamabad, where he will be buried with full service honours.

A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said: "We can confirm we were called at approximately 1.15pm on Christmas Day to a report that a 48-year-old man had fallen from premises in London.

"Police officers and a Hems (Helicopter Emergency Medical Services) crew went to the scene where the man was pronounced dead.

"We are not treating the death as suspicious."
