Putin sets out Russia's new role
Russian President Vladimir Putin has outlined plans for a foreign policy which rejects both Cold War expansionism and the post-Soviet honeymoon with the West. In a lengthy interview for state television marking his first year in office, Mr Putin said that Russia needed to work out what its national interests were and defend them. The BBC's Liz Rowley reports.
