Big blaze at Mexican rubbish dump

Firefighters in Mexico City are struggling to contain a blaze that has broken out at a rubbish dump on the outskirts of the city.

The army has sealed off the area and officials said they were considering whether to order thousands of nearby residents to leave their homes.

Thousands of tons of rubbish are now in flames after the fire began on Sunday.

Correspondents say the fire could well have been caused by accident by people who make a living on the rubbish dumps recycling used materials.
