Pakistani former minister released
The military government in Pakistan has released a former information minister, Mushahid Hussain, after fourteen months in detention without charge. He was one of the ministers arrested after General Pervez Musharraf overthrew the government of Nawaz Sharif in October last year. Most were either released quickly or charged and tried, and a BBC correspondent in Islamabad says it's not clear why Mr Hussain was held for so long. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
