Pope condemns Christmas violence
Pope John Paul has condemned the violence in Indonesia and also in the Middle East in his Christmas message from the Vatican. During the address from St Peters Square, the Pope spoke of the tragic time of trial and suffering of Christians in Indonesia, even on Christmas Day. He also referred to the Middle East, where Pope John Paul said the violence continued to stain with blood the difficult road to peace. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
