Clinton plan leaves 'peace obstacles'
President Clinton has given the Israelis and Palestinians until Wednesday to respond to new proposals. The violence of recent months has claimed more than 300 lives and, in the West Bank town of Bethlehem, ceremonies to mark Christmas have been muted. The BBC's John Simpson reports.
