President Yeltsin visits Germany today for talks with Chancellor Kohl on Russia's efforts to recover from its recent economic crisis, which saw financial markets suffering heavy losses and interest rates at record levels.
Germany is the biggest foreign investor in Russia and the BBC correspondent in Bonn -- where the talks are taking place -- says Mr Yeltsin is expected to seek the Chancellor's help in securing new credits from western nations.
Our correspondent says Mr Kohl is likely to support the idea of further loans, but only within the context of the International Monetary Fund.
