Two people are due to appear in court charged with murder after three men were stabbed to death in separate incidents in Northern Ireland during the Christmas period.

The victims died in incidents at houses in Londonderry, Belfast and Limavady, County Londonderry.

The Royal Ulster Constabulary said none was sectarian or linked to paramilitary violence.

A 21-year-old woman was charged with the murder of Eric Connor, 37, who died after being stabbed in the kitchen of a house at Rathbeg Crescent, Limavady, on Christmas Eve.

A 17-year-old man was charged with the murder of a man in a house in Drumard Park, in the Ballymagoraty district of Londonderry, in the early hours of Christmas Day.

Martin Mongan, 23, died following an attack at Dromard Park.

Meanwhile on Christmas Eve, William Morrison, 38, was found stabbed to death in a house at Portallo Street in the Woodstock Road area of east Belfast.

A man has been arrested.

The two people charged were due to appear in special courts in Londonderry on Tuesday.
