| The polls closed last night and some election officials blamed the poor turnout on the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan. Sudan's political problems are being made worse by a prolonged drought and two United Nations agencies have launched an appeal for emergency aid. The BBC's Bill Hayton reports. |
