Iranian FM urges US policy change

The Iranian foreign minister, Kamal Kharrazi, has called for a change in policy towards Iran from the incoming United States administration.

According to the Iranian news agency, Mr Kharrazi, said Washington should get in line with American oil companies and adopt a more favourable stance towards Iran.

He said it that happened Iran would also adjust its policies.

Iran and the United States severed diplomatic relations in 1980 after the US embassy in Tehran was stormed by radical students and more than fifty staff were taken hostage.
