Yemen releases BBC journalist

A court in Yemen has acquitted three BBC television journalists who've been detained for nearly two weeks on charges of unauthorised filming.

Reports from Sanaa say the judge said the three men, Robin Barnwell, Rageh Omaar, and Frank Smith were free to leave Yemen and their equipment and film would be returned.

They were arrested after returning from a remote area of Yemen where a British family was recently held hostage for several weeks.

The BBC had insisted that the journalists were properly accredited.
