The environmentalist Green party in Germany has adopted a revised manifesto for the general election in September.
The new manifesto, which was approved by a special party congress near Bonn, drops controversial committments to a big increase in petrol prices and to ending German participation in the NATO peacekeeping operation in Bosnia.
The Greens have suffered a sharp drop in electoral support since these policies were agreed at a party congress in March.
Correspondents say the Greens are anxious not to throw away the chance of forming a coalition government with the Social Democrats after the general election.
