Hong Kong chief expects economic rebound after period of adjustment


The Chief Executive of Hong Kong, Tung Chee-hwa, has said the territory is undergoing a painful period of economic restructuring but that he expects it to rebound from its current economic downturn after a period of adjustment.

Mr Tung's comments, on local radio, follow official figures published last month which showed that Hong Kong's economy had shrunk for the first time in thirteen years.
