Taleban release BBC translator
The BBC translator in Afghanistan, Abdul Saboor Salehzai, has been released by the Taleban authorities. He was arrested at the BBC office in Kabul last Saturday and held by Taleban intelligence. A spokesman for the Taleban foreign minister said Mr Salehzai had been detained because of reservations about his personality. He said these had now been cleared up. Earlier, the Taleban had accused Mr Salehzai of working under former governments. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
